The Role
You will be collaborating with a senior team of experienced specialists, in a flat, Agile, cross-functional structure. They understand the value of implementing knowledge and experience where it makes the greatest impact - the product! Your role with these guys will be to add value to the team, collaborating with exceptional individuals who look to combine capability with mutual respect to see the work they do get results. Responsibilities
Working across the Back End, contributing to solutions design & architectural decision
Developing and releasing new features and functionality for the product with a priority on scalablity and reliability
Adding value to the team through your experience and creativity
This team has a firm belief in bringing on the right people to do the job, and relying on you to do it. So self management and drive are essential as they have no intention of looking over your shoulder
As an ideal candidate you will have:
5 years + development experience
Intimate knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript is preferred but solid engineering in any language will be considered
Knowledge of developing highly scalable products - up to 50k+ requests per second
Experience of Node MicroServices architecture
AWS - EC2 / API Gateway / Docker
Unit Testing - code quality is a big focus so you need to be someone who takes pride in what you build
The confidence to have opinions about technology - without the ego to be close minded to the opinions of others
Bonus points for:
Kafka / Scala / Kubernetes
Start up environment
Cyber background is handy, but any security conscious development would be valued
Very low level conceptual / academic experience - an interest in how languages and technology works
