AddressElliott Gray is pleased to announce that we are working with a family-owned professional services business based in Phillip. They have a mission to tackle the bookkeeper shortage within Canberra. Over the past 20 years, they have grown to a team of 8, now looking to grow beyond, this is where you come as their new Senior Bookkeeper.
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper or accountant with up to a minimum of three years’ experience in the industry to help advise and review the work of other bookkeepers within the organisation. You will be joining a culture that is all about helping one another and lifting others up so make sure you are bringing that team vibe with you!
So, what will you be doing?
You will be responsible for supporting the bookkeeping and accounting team in processing tax returns and providing financial business advice. This includes BAS lodgements, long service leave lodgements, reviewing superannuation accruals and general bookkeeping functions. Your other duties will include data preparation and entry, AP/AR processing, reconciliations, and month-end processing tasks. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to build your own client base and and show your skills in providing them with a 360-degree financial service.
This role is well suited to you if you have had experience working with clients previously and looking to work alongside people who lead by example, committing to ensure best practices. Your directors are all about flexibility, whatever you put in, will be equally as returned!
What else do I need to be successful for this position?
Previous Xero experience is an absolute must, our client has just fully integrated to this product so bringing your experience in the software will be highly regarded. As well as the ability to coach and mentor people around you, I really mean it when this is a helping environment. Working in this senior position will mean you have people looking up to you for your wisdom and support so bring your ‘a’ game!
