We are currently seeking applications to fulfill a role as a Senior Bookkeeper within the accounting and compliance team in our Belconnen office. This is a great opportunity to work with an established team, who are highly experienced and professional. The ideal candidate will be a highly driven individual with a positive attitude with the ability to demonstrate qualities of being a team player and thrive on interaction with clients and other stakeholders.
In this highly busy role with more bookkeeping client coming on board frequently. This will mean you will need to ensure your workflow is dealt with in an efficient and effective manner and to best practice quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process payrolls.
- Reconciling accounts.
- Preparation for BAS.
- Client management, support and training.
- Management of superannuation payments.
- End of year preparation of Xero and STP finalisation.
- Set up of new accounting systems including set up of chart of accounts.
- Managing offshore bookkeeper. Providing mentoring and guidance where required to ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned workloads.
- Provide face to face and phone support and training to clients.
- Other ad hoc duties.
Mandatory criteria:
- Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience in a comparable role, preferably from a public practice background, working across a variety of businesses.
- Have a passion for client service.
- Ability to investigate issues and find solutions.
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience with Xero (a must).
Desirable:
- Have experience in a customer service environment.
- Proficient in using MS Office, Excel and Word and high level of computer literacy.
- Experience with MYOB and HandiSoft software.
- Relevant qualifications.
Part time position will be considered for applicants that meet the above criteria.
To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status.
Salary is 75,000 to 90,000 (pro rata) plus super dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.
