As part of the Treasury Budget Management Branch you will contribute to the development, monitoring and management of the State Budget. Duties include assisting in the State Budget development process and preparation of Budget Papers, and providing advice to Government on a range of agency issues that impact on the State Budget.

About the opportunity
On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Budget Analyst’s responsibilities will include:
- reviewing agency budget risks and budget updates within Treasury’s Budget Information Management System;
- assisting in the preparation of agency budget chapters;
- research and analysis of agency financial statements;
- working with other Tasmanian government agencies;
- preparing written advice to the Treasurer and senior Treasury staff.
About the Branch
The primary responsibilities of Budget Management Branch are to seek improved outcomes for the Tasmanian community through the provision of effective advice on the financial and resource management of government agencies, taking into account the Government’s strategies and priorities. The Branch also prepares, monitors and manages the State Budget on behalf of the Government.
