- Provide high level specialised technical and policy advice to all internal and external stakeholders on the applicable building requirements and relevant standards referenced in the Building Act 2016.
- Represent the Department in a variety of local and national forums including technical advisory bodies and committees.
- Undertake assessments of applications for Building Service Provider occupational licences.
- Participate in the Tasmanian delegation that is responsible for the Australian Building Codes Board.
- The provision of technical advice relating to the statutory requirements of the Building Act 2016.
- Undertake research, analysis and provide recommendations on emerging developments that may have technical implication on building matters that may impact the building industry, building standards, codes and legislation.
- Provide input into the development and facilitation of legislation and technical education strategies for stakeholders.
- Qualifications and experience in building surveying.
