Collar Group has partnered with a leading Council in Sydney's South West that is looking for a Building Surveyor to assist the team on a permanent full time basis.This Council is in one of the fastest growing regions and is one of the most diverse communities in Australia. About the role:
This Council is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to contribute to the development of our growing community in a beautiful urban and rural environment.
This position will see you contributing to the delivery of growth in the local government area through professional development and certification assessment.
The diverse and challenging role will provide you with an opportunity to work in a mix of high rise urban, greenfield residential and rural situations. The role also provides assistance to the Coordinator in mentoring the Certification team.
You will carry out critical stage inspections for all classes of buildings, assess and determine Construction Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Building Certificates for all classes of buildings in accordance with relevant Acts and Regulations. You will also be required to communicate well in clarifying requirements and conveying information to a diverse client group.
Salary - $105,000 - $120,000 + super + leaseback vehicle
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- Australian Citizenship or resident with valid unlimited work rights
- A Degree or Graduate Diploma in Building, Engineering, Construction or equivalent
- To be a registered certifier who holds a minimum Building Surveyor – Restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings) (formally A3)
- Experience in assessing and determining Construction Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Building Certificates for all classes of buildings in accordance with relevant Acts and Regulation
- Minimum 4 years experience as a Building Surveyor in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in carrying out critical stage inspections for all classes of buildings;
- Knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia, and other related legislation.
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Flexible working arrangements including working from home and various Council offices
- Ability to accrue flexitime per month in addition to 4 week annual leave
- Free or subsidised parking available
- 35 hour working week
