The Opportunity: 

Urbis has an opportunity for a Senior Business Development Consultant to join our Brand & Clients team. Whilst there is a preference for this person to be based in Melbourne, we are also open to applicants from Sydney and Brisbane!

This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of Urbis' 2030 business strategy.

Utilising market and client insights, you'll work closely with our Directors, Head of Business Development, and Business Development Managers to strengthen our relationships and profile within priority sectors. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a market-oriented and collaborative culture across Urbis.

You'll be responsible for implementing and executing Business Development plans that fuel growth in our key focus areas. Acting as a trusted partner and advisor to Client & Sector Leads and other Urbis stakeholders, your input will be invaluable to shaping cities and communities for a better future!

You will:

  • Collaborate with and provide advice to Client & Sector Leads and key stakeholders on issues relating to client/sector initiatives and internal and external relationships.
  • Take a proactive, client centric approach to identifying challenges and opportunities, and propose solutions.
  • Implement tailored client & sector strategies and plans to promote growth and profitability, develop relationships with key decision makers and facilitate information sharing between the relevant internal client / sector teams.
  • Share client, sector and market knowledge with key internal stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities to unlock growth and win new work in nominated clients and sectors.
  • Support with strategy and the approach to significant bids / proposals / capability statements, for key opportunities within the client & sector portfolio.

About you:

  • Have an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Business-related fields.
  • Strong BD experience (3-5 years) with a preference for Professional Services or B2B setting.
  • Hold technical knowledge of Business Development.
  • Knowledge of real estate / built environment sector will be highly regarded.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience in influencing within a professional services firm or large corporate.
  • Experience and track record in sector development and key account management.
