As the Senior Category Specialist, you will be working collaboratively across the business to lead procurement projects on behalf of the Operational teams, to drive optimal commercial outcomes, strategic direction and provide procurement and market insights that help deliver key business objectives.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead, oversee, and fulfil procurement needs throughout the entire project lifecycle, spanning planning, operations, and delivery phases.
- Formulate innovative Sourcing Strategies and Category Plans to optimize outcomes across the procurement portfolio.
- Direct multiple sourcing projects and contractor management tasks, including RFXs, negotiations, and risk management.
- Coordinate end-to-end procurement events for internal stakeholders, handling activities from tender development to contract execution, ensuring clear, compliant, and concise documentation.
- Develop, implement, and oversee category strategies aligned with overall portfolio, strategic procurement, and corporate objectives. Identify opportunities for category improvement to enhance operational efficiencies and achieve better commercial outcomes.
- Adhere to Queensland Government Procurement Principles, Procurement Framework, and mandated processes during strategic sourcing events.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end procurement, encompassing strategic and tactical proficiency.
- Experienced in providing strategic sourcing solutions, implementing contractual arrangements, and managing various contract types within resource and manufacturing sectors.
- Collaborates effectively with key stakeholders across the business to optimize procurement services.
- Possesses a strong understanding of contract management frameworks, key performance metrics, and effective project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in Commercial and Contract Law, government sector procurement, and compliance with regulations.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate for optimal business results.
