About the position
Based in our Sydney office and reporting to the Senior Manager, Scheduling and Customer Service, the Senior Charterer and Scheduling will be responsible for optimizing the overall fleet schedule with flexibility to support both granular and cementitious desks as well as planning the most effective/efficient schedule and trade routes for CSL owned and charter-in tonnage.
Other responsibilities include;

• Management of vessel, trade and cargo allocation, including charting in of short and long term supplementary capacity;
• Chartering – External/market vessel and voyage charters. Short and long term charter and contract management – including technical aspects (adaptors/ship suitability);
• Responsible for the voyage profit and loss;
• Management of customer inventory levels, ensuring zero stocks out conditions;
• Minimizing delays and congestion;
• Maintain the Scheduling Optimser from a system and inputs perspective;
• Analysis of fleet schedule scenarios, develop and maintain final optimized fleet schedule within a changing environment;
• Liaise with Vessel Masters, Agents Shippers and Receivers in relation to daily vessel operations, ie. Loading, discharging and cargo (including voyage instructions and monitoring all communications);
• Proactively and cohesively interact with other Chartering and Scheduling team members for optimization of time charter earnings (TCE) prioritization of voyages;
• Enter and maintain accurate fleet schedule and other information in IMOS on a daily basis.

About you

• Degree level education in business, commerce, or maritime qualification
• Minimum 5-year experience in a shipping environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Eagerness to acquire new skills and adapt to different situations
• Ability to partner and build strong relationships both externally and internally
• Ability to collaborate and support your team members
• Demonstrates strong time management skills
• Demonstrates high accuracy in tasks
