Wild Bush Luxury specialises in nature immersive experiences in remote and exclusive settings. Bamurru Plains is a Luxury Lodge of Australia, a safari style camp set amongst the savannah bush fringing the Mary River floodplains in the Top End. Offering guided experiences and down to earth yet attentive level of service, our team of hosts and guides are passionate about sharing the environment and wildlife with our guests .
Bamurru Plains is a 13-room luxury safari camp located next to Kakadu National Park in the Top End of the Northern Territory. Set amongst 300km² of coastal floodplain and tropical savannah, the property has set a new benchmark for nature tourism in Australia bringing a level of luxury to the Australian bush. Bamurru is a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia and delivers an understated level of luxury in a remote and beautiful bush location.
The camp itself is 3 hours’ drive from Darwin, located in a spectacular spot on the edge of the Mary River floodplains, with a profusion of birdlife and wildlife on its doorstep.
The focus of a stay at Bamurru Plains is in the exclusive and immersive bush experiences that are offered by field guides, while back in camp Bamurru's style of 'Wild Bush Luxury' underpins the wilderness experience with a supremely comfortable camp and excellent cuisine.

About you
You are an experienced Chef with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar remote setting. You hold the relevant qualifications and have a keen eye for detail. You have a passion for Australian cuisine and strong knowledge of industry standards.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Chef who will be based at Bamurru Plains, a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia. Catering up to 30 guests at a time, you will connect them to the country through food experiences that combine native and local produce, quality standards and dining theatre in a style that is uniquely Wild Bush Luxury.
You will be working with the Head Chef and a small team to deliver a standard of cuisine that is commensurate with top lodges around Australia and elsewhere in the world, crafting cuisine that compliments a bush environment and with food that is of gourmet standards but in an unfussy yet innovative style, that is uniquely Australian. This is a fixed term position until 31 October 2024, with the opportunity to return the following season based on performance.
