Senior Civil Engineer (Contract / Perth)

About the Company
  
This tremendous civil construction company is currently engaged on several of Perth’s largest infrastructure projects as a subcontractor delivering scopes of work spanning earthworks, concrete, roads and drainage. They have open work fronts on these projects from Kwinana to Malaga and now require the added expertise and guidance of a Senior Civil Engineer ideally with road construction experience to join their team initially on a 3-4 month contract arrangement, but with high likelihood of rolling over permanent. 
  
About the Role
  
As Senior Civil Engineer you will be working Mon-Friday (10 hour days) in Perth supporting across a couple of projects including a freeway upgrade, a Metronet train line, and a unique power related project. You will join a bunch of high-quality project professionals on contract basis through until approximately mid June 2024, to help closeout the latter stages of these projects. As an experienced Senior Civil Engineer you will lead subcontractor management, planning and scheduling, cost and progress reporting, forecasting, client liaison, and providing technical guidance during site construction activities. But the compelling reason to apply for this role is that it will allow you to be home each night rather than working on FIFO basis. On offer will be a terrific contract rate of CIRCA $90-100/hr + Super (*based on experience). Beyond this contract, our client has other projects “in the pipeline” so there is a high possibility of being offered a permanent role or re-deploying on another metro project in due course.
  
Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements  

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering minimum
• Minimum 6+ years’ as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer on civil infrastructure projects working for civil contractors in Australia
• Experience on road/freeway/highway construction projects is essential and preferably in WA for Civil Contractors (ie. MRWA exposure)
• Broad technical expertise across concrete, earthworks, drainage and roadworks scopes of work
• Strong all-round communication skills and leadership capability
• Excellent financial cost management skills and ability to utilize MS Project and interpret Primavera software to manage projects
• Perth/WA based with existing work rights for Australia (*NOTE: This role is not open to international applicants)
