About the Role
As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer, will be a key and valued contributor within an engineering team who provide technical expertise across the Projects portfolio. You and your team will work with internal stakeholders, and Design and Installation Service Providers to ensure projects are delivered in a cost-efficient way and to high standards of quality.
This role will report to the Group Leader, Primary/Civil/Structural Engineering within our high performing Engineering Solutions team, with a base location at Southbank, Victoria.
We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver
- Provide technical support into Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet's Electricity transmission and distribution networks
- Provide input into Civil and Structural designs and provide technical engineering advice for brownfield and greenfield substation projects
- Auditing Civil and Structural detailed design deliverables to the required quality, meeting all current standards
- Develop and/or review scopes, detailed design and installation scope of works
- Ensure high standards of design quality are maintained through technical auditing of designs on inflight projects
- Provide technical input into staging, constructability, operability and maintainability (COM) and safety in design reviews
- Identify opportunities to develop new, and update existing engineering standards
- Manage value engineering/ innovation initiatives across varied project types at times in collaboration with other stakeholders both in Projects and wider AusNet Services stakeholders.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Civil and Structural Engineering
What we like about you
- Deep technical knowledge and experience in the field of Civil and Structural Engineering
- Ability to simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers (e.g. summarising key decision-making during delivery of detailed design)
- Tertiary qualification in Civil/ Structural Engineering with accreditation as CPEng and RPEV
- Experience with civil and structural construction practices
- Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
- Experience in detailed design and documentation of site grading, pavements, earthworks, and stormwater drainage
- Significant experience applying civil/ Structural Engineering in a Substation environment
