What can you expect?
JLT Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (a business of Marsh McLennan) is the appointed Scheme Manager to the Local Government Association Workers Compensation Scheme (LGAWCS). The LGAWCS manages Claims, Return to Work, Work Health and Safety and Risk initiatives for all of Local Government in South Australia and is registered as a Self-Insured employer with RTWSA.
The LGAWCS is committed to achieving excellence in Injury Management, WHS and Risk for Local Government (Members) and has been recognised for its excellent performance in RTWSA initiated reviews into workers compensation in SA.
In this role, you will be the trusted resource that our Members will rely on, delivering end-to-end claims management. Your focus will be on providing timely services to injured workers in our Scheme, ensuring their well-being and facilitating their return to work.
We will count on you to:
- Provide proactive review of claims liability, make determinations, and offer advisory services to facilitate early return to work and minimise lost time injuries throughout the entire process
- Implement early intervention strategies and engage with return to work services to support injured workers
- Prepare for, attend and contribute to Tribunal matters
- Participate in medical case conferences with general practitioners (GPs) and specialists, as necessary, collaborating to develop effective treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with the Manager, Team Leader, Claims & RTW Consultants, WHS/Risk Practitioners and Members
- Perform all duties in accordance with the Return-to-Work Act 2014, Regulations, and the Code of Conduct for Self-Insurers.
What you need to have:
- Experience in delivering claims services, ideally end-to-end claims management, with a strong focus on return to work, demonstrating your expertise in managing complex cases
- Previous experience in self-insurance will be highly regarded
- Exceptional skills in building relationships, allowing you to establish trust and rapport with injured workers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to effectively convey information, advocate for injured workers and collaborate with various parties
- Willingness to travel to metropolitan and regional locations as required.
