About the role
The GV Health Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a community program providing assessment, treatment, care and support to young people under the age of 18 years with severe and complex mental health difficulties. The CAMHS Clinician role will work within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, well supported by psychiatry medical staff. Based in our Lower Hume office in Seymour, the role is a Senior Clinician role, providing leadership to a small multidisciplinary team responsible for coordination and provision of mental health assessments, treatment planning and brief intervention.
The successful candidate will have:
- Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- Registered Psychiatric Nurses must have: a post-graduate qualification or equivalent in mental health
- Psychologists must have: current psychology registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Occupational Therapists must be: eligible for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Social Workers must be: eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Experience in working with children and young people wtih mental health difficulties
- Experience in the provision of mental health crisis assessments, risk assessments, safety planning and crisis management planning

The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.
The regional mental health workforce incentive grants will support the attraction, recruitment, and retention of new workers to priority positions across state funded mental health services in rural and regional Victoria.
