My client is a cutting-edge and award-winning casting company who due to continuous growth are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join their business in the South Eastern suburbs.
Renowned for their ability to produce complex metal parts for some of the most demanding applications in aerospace and defence they are set for significant growth with additional capabilities in titanium and NDT.
You will have the opportunity to work with high profile customers across the defence, aerospace and biomedical industries, worldwide. With a 100% inspection rate, sub 5 micron tolerances and frequent non-recurring engineering (NRE) as well as production jobs, you will be challenged and enjoy variety in your work.

What you'll do:
- Set up, program, and operate 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Milling Machines to produce metal parts according to specifications.
- Creating, implementing and optimising CNC programs.
- Building fixtures/jigs.
- Perform thorough inspections of finished parts to ensure they meet strict quality standards and make necessary adjustments as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any programming or machining issues to minimise production downtime.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
What you bring:
- A positive, driven personality, with fantastic communication skills and the want to contribute to a high performing team.
- Recognised and related tertiary qualifications (e.g. Fitter/Turner/Machinist/Engineering).
- A high-level fluency with various programming languages and CAM programming, preferably with MASTERCAM.
- Programming in Fanuc on machine controllers including G codes and M codes (2 years)
- Experience in building fixtures and jigs (toolmaker)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, including understanding of GD&T.
- The ability to work with extreme precision and a keen eye for detail is essential.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to resolve technical challenges effectively.
