The Role
The Memorial has an integrated CDAMS which includes a Collection Management System (CMS), currently Museum +, and a Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), currently Piction. The Senior CDAMS Officer plays a leading role the development, maintenance, user support and training for the Memorial’s CDAMS.
This position will focus on the DAMS and lead user support, training programs and testing for the system as well as documentation and standards. The role requires close collaboration with system administrators in IT and also with system users and vendors. It will play leading role in digital preservation and management of the Memorial’s digital collections.
The role will support users across the Memorial and assist the Manager, CDAMS managing the integrated system. The role will contribute to the forward planning and strategic direction of the CDAMS team, explore new initiatives and promote ideas for improvement. The Senior CDAMS Officer is also a key stakeholder in multi section projects across the Memorial, ensuring collection information and preservation strategies are implemented.
Core Responsibilities
Under limited direction of the Manager, CDAMS the role is responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of DAMS help desk services;
- Development and delivery of DAMS training programs;
- Continuous development and implementation of system documentation and standards;
- Leading user support across the integrated CMS and DAMS including:
- Analysis of system performance and complex issues that require judgement and expertise to resolve;
- Analysis of user requirements to resolve system issues and identify systemic and recurring issues for resolution;
- Initiation and implementation of system improvements and enhancements;
- Data monitoring and improvement tasks;
- User generated reports.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and engagement with key internal stakeholders including users and system administrators in IT;
- Develop strong relationships with key external stakeholders including vendors and contractors to ensure system performance and growth;
- Contribute to CDAMS purchasing and budgeting decisions;
- Play a leading role in forward planning, as well as initiating and implementing strategic changes for users;
- Contribute to Collection Services team outcomes for the safe, collaborative and effective management of the National Collection.
