Senior Commissioning and Planning Officer
Permanency Support Program (Out of Home Care)

  • Location: Illawarra Shoalhaven and Southern NSW District (negotiable/hybrid work environment)
  • Employment Type: Temporary full-time, 6-month opportunity
  • Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10, $120,859pa up to $133,183pa, plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role
An exciting opportunity exists to be part of a small, committed, and passionate team as a Senior Commissioning and Planning Officer, focusing on the Permanency Support Program (Out of Home Care).
As a Senior Commissioning and Planning Officer, you will manage local teams, improve contract relationships, and contribute to better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
You will work with the non-government sector to deliver the permanency Support Program, and support key reform initiatives such as the Transition of Aboriginal OOHC placements to the ACCO sector.
What you'll do
  • Lead the delivery of contract monitoring and evaluation to actively support service delivery review and improvement strategies.
  • Provide evidence-based information and advice to stakeholders, solving problems, and contributing to improvements across the districts.
  • Prepare contract reporting and analysis to contribute to informed and constructive procurement through service negotiation and collaboration.
  • Contribute to improvements of service delivery gaps, high risk services and funding decisions through evidence-based analysis.
  • Undertake research and data analysis to provide accurate and consistent advice to service providers and funded organisations while adapting to changing environments.
  • Manage team workloads, priorities and deliverables while preparing complex submissions, briefing notes, and discussion papers.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Exceptional program management and relationship building skills.
  • A dedication to stakeholder management to ensure focus on quality and improvement.
  • The ability to effectively manage relationships, navigate complex situations and be comfortable managing difficult conversations.
