Purpose of the Role
As a part of our growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a Senior Configuration Controller, to join our Melbourne based business. This role reports to the Director Technical Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working, experienced Configuration Manager/Document Controller who has provided configuration management services across a range of sectors and is seeking their next challenge to develop their career in a renowned worldwide business.
The Senior Configuration Controller is responsible for the management of the WFS-A Information Management System, and the receipt, recording, distribution and filing of all technical documentation associated with the ADF Deployable Bulk Fuel Distribution capability.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMP) and all processes pertaining to Configuration Management
Manage Configuration Management related efforts for the Project
Create, perform and monitor Configuration Management deliverables
Produce and monitor management reports
Lead the Project team in all matters pertaining Configuration Management for Acquisition, Support and Change Control of all Project products
Plan and execute Configuration Management throughout the project lifecycle, including product development
Maintain, monitor and report contractually required or internally directed baselines (e.g. functional, allocated, and product baselines) with appropriate Engineering documentation and Standards
Review, oversee and update configuration management processes, including end to end change processes
Develop and maintain the Configuration Status Accounting Reports (CSAR)
Develop and maintain the Master Record Index
Prepare, administrate and lead the Configuration Management System Reviews and Meetings including Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), System Acceptance Audits (SAA) and associated reviews.
Ensure project including Subcontractor configuration management activities are conducted in accordance with the Approved CMP
Conduct Configuration Identification, Control and Status Accounting
Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCB) meetings and manage/track the outputs and changes – e.g Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and
Key Requirements:
≥ 5 years defence industry experience in project based team or engineering management environment
Candidate with Experience in ASDEFCON environment in capacity of Configuration Management Controller (or equivalent) in a complex production, maintenance, engineering or project environment will be a huge plus
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and PLM systems
Demonstrated professional integrity, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility and maturity of judgement.
Flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
