Purpose of the Role
As a part of our growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a Senior Configuration Controller, to join our Melbourne based business. This role reports to the Director Technical Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working, experienced Configuration Manager/Document Controller who has provided configuration management services across a range of sectors and is seeking their next challenge to develop their career in a renowned worldwide business.
The Senior Configuration Controller is responsible for the management of the WFS-A Information Management System, and the receipt, recording, distribution and filing of all technical documentation associated with the ADF Deployable Bulk Fuel Distribution capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMP) and all processes pertaining to Configuration Management
- Manage Configuration Management related efforts for the Project
- Create, perform and monitor Configuration Management deliverables
- Produce and monitor management reports
- Lead the Project team in all matters pertaining Configuration Management for Acquisition, Support and Change Control of all Project products
- Plan and execute Configuration Management throughout the project lifecycle, including product development
- Maintain, monitor and report contractually required or internally directed baselines (e.g. functional, allocated, and product baselines) with appropriate Engineering documentation and Standards
- Review, oversee and update configuration management processes, including end to end change processes
- Develop and maintain the Configuration Status Accounting Reports (CSAR)
- Develop and maintain the Master Record Index
- Prepare, administrate and lead the Configuration Management System Reviews and Meetings including Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), System Acceptance Audits (SAA) and associated reviews.
- Ensure project including Subcontractor configuration management activities are conducted in accordance with the Approved CMP
- Conduct Configuration Identification, Control and Status Accounting
- Facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCB) meetings and manage/track the outputs and changes – e.g Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and
- ≥ 5 years defence industry experience in project based team or engineering management environment
- Candidate with Experience in ASDEFCON environment in capacity of Configuration Management Controller (or equivalent) in a complex production, maintenance, engineering or project environment will be a huge plus
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and PLM systems
- Demonstrated professional integrity, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility and maturity of judgement.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
