Roster: Monday to Friday

As a Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist, you are enthusiastic, detail driven, and willing to step-up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement-driven organisation. Reporting to the Manager Governance & Continuous Improvement, the ideal candidate will be passionate about new technologies (inc. robotic process automation, AI & Gen AI) and possess a strong desire to drive innovation and efficiency through the implementation of technology solutions. Joining a dynamic and fast paced team, you will provide thought leadership in industry best practice Source-to-Pay (S2P) work practices and systems, review processes with a lean mindset and focus on streamlining and automation.

You will assist with process design, develop roadmaps for implementation as well as provide effective project management capabilities to oversee the end-to-end delivery of improvement initiatives from ideation to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with procurement leadership and cross functional stakeholders to drive best practice adoption, optimised system utilisation and continuous process improvement outcomes.
  • Lead continuous process improvements, provide business process guidance for application enhancements and manual tasks automation with a view to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify technology and process improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps and implement process improvements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage delivery of system and process changes including change management to facilitate project deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation and senior management, including presenting project deliverables to steering committees and project sponsors.
  • Collaborate with Fortescue stakeholders to ensure regular update of relevant policies & procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Source-to-Pay subject matter expertise (SAP, Ariba and Ivalua systems experience highly regarded)
  • Cross-functional experience in a large, complex global business services function with exposure to purchasing and other shared services functions.
  • Advanced influencing and people engagement skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively either as an individual or member of a team.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical judgement and evaluation skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, determine priorities and organise work to meet objectives and identify and deal with problems.
  • Experience with organisational change management as well as working in a large, complex global environment.
  • High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft 365 suite, Visio, Power BI, Python).
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Agile, PMBOK).
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g. Jira Work Management, Confluence).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or procurement/supply chain are desirable.
  • Exposure to mining or heavy industry combined with relevant commercial experience will be highly regarded.
