About the role

The WorkSmart Division improves the way we work by empowering and enabling employees to be more productive, collaborative, efficient and effective, and sits within the People, Culture and Corporate Business Unit, comprising two streams: Continuous Improvement and WorkSafe Ways of Working.

The Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist works in the Continuous Improvement (CI) team which partners with Business Units and Divisions across WorkSafe to identify, prioritize and resolve process improvement opportunities to ensure processes are efficient and effective. This role supports the review, development and implementation of Continuous Improvement processes focussed upon increasing efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the Continuous Improvement Lead to develop and implement the Continuous Improvement strategy and roadmap across the business.
  • Manage a portfolio of Continuous Improvement initiatives, ranging in complexity, across multiple business units and coordinate Continuous Improvement Analysts’ workload, ensuring all Continuous Improvement activity is aligned with the organisation's vision and strategic priorities.
  • Lead and facilitate end to end complex cross functional process improvement projects.
  • Lead the identification and documentation of Continuous Improvement opportunities to address process deficiencies through consultation with business and technology stakeholders, vendors and clients, developing a prioritised list of recommendations.
  • Produce quality and meaningful Continuous Improvement artefacts including problem statements and, integrated process and customer journey maps to support capability uplift.
  • Communicate Continuous Improvement outcomes and impacts so these are well understood and agreed by all impacted stakeholders and business owners.
  • Through facilitation of training, coaching, mentoring and support build capability within business units to review work processes and identify improvements using Continuous Improvement principles and techniques.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in driving Continuous Improvement programs using Lean Six Sigma methodologies in medium to large organisations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, particularly in the provision and presentation of expert and high-quality advice and recommendations to senior management, facilitation of Continuous Improvement workshops, and engaging staff with process data analysis.
  • Proven experience in training and coaching Continuous Improvement tools & methodologies.
  • Advanced computer skills, research and data analysis capability, using Microsoft Office products, ICT systems, collaboration and productivity applications and Continuous or Business Improvement tools.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, or relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of experience in related disciplines such as human resources, business management or project management.

       Desirable:

  • PRINCE2, AGILE, Human Centered Design, Scrum Master Qualifications at any level.
  • Change Management Certifications, Eg PROSCI.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
