Senior Contracts Adviser

The Team

The position of Senior Contracts Adviser forms a part of the Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG) Group and Commercial, Finance and Assurance Branch.

The OCG in DJSIR oversees the planning and coordination required to stage the 2026 Commonwealth Games including the Games budget, governance coordination, the commissioning of the infrastructure build, government relations (inter and intra) and achievement of Games legacy objectives.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the first multicity and regional Commonwealth Games that will deliver a world class sporting event and a legacy for Victoria.

The Senior Contracts Adviser sits within the Office of the Commonwealth Games, Commercial Finance and Assurance branch and reports to the Manager, Commercial Contracts.

The Senior Contracts Adviser, Commercial Contracts, will provide authoritative advice and support for all aspects of the commercial and funding agreements between the OCG, and delivery partners of the 2026 Victoria Commonwealth Games including the Organising Committee (OC). The Senior Contracts Adviser, Commercial Contracts will establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively manage contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, and risks, and undertake negotiations and drafting as required.

About You

You will have strong commercial acumen and proven experience in providing advice on complex contractual agreements and funding arrangements. Demonstrated experience operating in a complex and demanding environment whilst exercising sound judgement and attention to detail, negotiating and liaising effectively with stakeholders will be necessary.

You will be adept at building collaborative relationships with people at all levels and always operate with a high-level of professionalism. In addition to this, highly developed written, analytical, and conceptual ability, including issue identification and effective problem-solving skills will be required.
