The Senior Coordinator Inclusion is responsible for overseeing the delivery of assertive outreach and community development programs that contribute to a vibrant, safe, connected and accessible community for residents and visitors.
About the Opportunity
This position is an ongoing opportunity for a leader with strong cultural competency, sound management skills and the capacity to advocate at a high level.
Joining our Community and Cultural team the Senior Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of assertive outreach and community development programs that contribute to a vibrant, safe, connected and accessible community for residents and visitors. This role seeks to establish and maintain key relationships across the community sector particularly as they relate and respond to inclusion. The Senior Coordinator Inclusion leads City of Darwin's response to safer public spaces and to access and inclusion, within a community development approach.
You must be familiar with the adverse impacts of public intoxication on our community and provide leadership, management and direction of Assertive Outreach response, engagement and referral. The role leads City of Darwin's response to the management of Walkways and provides advice on liquor licensing applications and broader issues relating to homelessness and vulnerable people. The Senior Coordinator Inclusion advises Council on issues that address access and inclusion and advocates for greater accessibility for people experiencing disability across the municipality. The successful applicant will be required to provide high level advice, review existing organisational policies, and support the delivery of strategic and operational plans.
