About Our Team:

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

As an integral part of the wider CAMHS Corporate team, the Learning and Development Team coordinates, creates, evaluates, and delivers Learning and Development programs to CAMHS employees, to enable the safe delivery of mental health services.  The team also works collaboratively with the Child and Adolescent Health Services (CAHS) ‘Learning Academy’ to support access to mandatory training, and the development and growth of our staff through diverse Learning and Development programs.

About the Role:

As the Senior Coordinator, Learning and Development, you will oversee an experienced Learning and Development Team, manage internal and external stakeholder requests, and allocate team resources to meet individual, team and organisational need. You will have an excellent understanding of instructional design and education delivery within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will work across CAMHS to align education and training program delivery with strategic and operational goals, and bring your subject matter expertise in Learning and Development.

CAMHS is continually evolving our services with a focus on enabling safe and best practices in the way we deliver care; the Senior Coordinator, Learning and Development will be instrumental in enabling this. Come join our team and play a part in shaping the state of mental health service in WA!

Applied knowledge and/or relevant experience in CAMHS or population health services is desirable. Tertiary qualifications in management, education, training, health, social science or equivalent is desirable.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.  Visa sponsorship for eligible international applicants that meet immigration requirements may also be considered.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above fixed-term vacancies, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

About our CAMHS Directorates

  • Community CAMHS– Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

  • Specialist Services and Day Programs– The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs.

  • Acute CAMHS– Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children’s Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Consultation Liaison, Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.
