Help transform the health of millions of people! We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Core Systems Engineering Tech Lead to join our Core Systems Team. The purpose of the Senior Systems Engineering Tech Lead role is to ensure that Bupa Core Systems are maintained & enhanced within an integrated stack of technologies that focuses on increasing automation, speed to market, leveraging available toolsets, improved development practices, and constant innovation. You'll be responsible for the critical review of development practices and technologies, investigate new tools & software, engage with product vendors, and advocate & initiate meaningful change. You'll act as an integral part of Bupa's Core System health & integrity, ensuring we can meet business, technology, and security needs. A Tech Lead in Bupa Technology is a critical liaison between all project stakeholders, ensuring the resulting Core Systems enhancements integrate seamlessly end to end. To be successful in this role you'll need: Note: This is not a Mainframe system - Extensive Unix/Solaris experience is required. * Require a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field or extensive professional experience in Applications Systems solution delivery. * Expert in the Australia Health Insurance Industry. * Expert in complex Core System (COBOL) analysis, system enhancement, and operational support. * Excellent Solution Development & Service Delivery skills. * Extensive Software Development experience in a diverse technology stack. * Experience with Micro Focus/Open Text products including Visual COBOL for Visual Studio 2022, Solaris COBOL Runtime and the Micro Focus Analyzer is a must. * Experience in third party technologies such as Control-M, Postman, COSORT and Service Now, is also beneficial. * Experience in additional languages such as Python, Web Service technology, C family, and ability to explore new languages as needed to achieve the goals of this role. * Expert in Unix based operating systems that includes command line fluency & advanced scripting knowledge. Solaris experience specifically, with Red Hat experience as a plus. * Expert in GIT integrated with Azure DevOps (Pipeline & Release Management) for code reviews, continuous integration & continuous delivery pipelines. * Solid Oracle and PL/SQL experience. * Expert in Solution Design & Logical Data Design skills.
