An excellent opportunity now exists for a Senior Data Analyst to join our upcoming and energetic analytics team. The team consists of a diverse skillset of technical and operational personnel who are responsible for providing data driven insights. Reporting to the Superintendent Analytics and Reporting, you will provide in-depth data analysis, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Duties
- Lead the iterative discovery process with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and expected outcomes, including the financial benefits
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data analysis needs and deliver comprehensive solutions
- Conduct complex data analysis to extract meaningful insights and identify trends that inform business decisions
- Develop and maintain advanced analytical models to support forecasting, optimisation, and scenario analysis
- Utilise statistical methods and data visualisation techniques to present findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all analytical processes and reports
- Work in an iterative manner with stakeholders to validate findings
- Present the rationale in easy-to-understand terms for business stakeholders
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the analytics team's skills and knowledge
- Participate in the development and implementation of data governance and data quality standards
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar
- Strong experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
- Ability to mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the analytics team's skills and knowledge
- Experience in mining or a related field, along with certification in data analysis, data science or related areas will be beneficial
