Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people
of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. About the RoleThe
Senior Data Analyst will work collaboratively across MCV divisions to support evidence-based decision making. This includes the development of models and other analysis for use in business cases, as well as conducting research to assist ongoing business decisions and analytical capability.As part of an ongoing effort to improve the veracity and availability of data, the role will also support the Senior Manager, DARE to enhance data governance and transparency throughout the organisation by generating, reviewing, and disseminating relevant documentation. The DARE team also supports MCV's automation strategy by developing automated solutions using Microsoft's Power Platform.The role will be required to support this agenda through the develop of automated solutions and/or supporting documentation.
About You- Proficiency in the development of dashboards and reports using Power BI and Power Query in Excel, including the ability to develop visually appealing and appropriate visualisations
- Proficiency in the development of automation products using Power Apps and Power Automate
- Demonstrated ability to develop SQL queries and craft data insights based on extracted data, preferably in a Courts or criminal justice context
- Demonstrated ability to develop appropriate PowerPoint presentations targeted towards senior management
- Experience in developing demand and resource models to support strategic decision making
- Ability to conduct research and statistical analysis and appropriately document findings
- Ability to work with APIs and to develop geospatial maps using GIS software is desirable.
