AddressROLE OVERVIEW:
As a Senior Data Science/Engineering Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and application of analytics products, data storage solutions, and methodologies to meet stakeholder needs. Leveraging your expertise in data blending, transformation pipeline development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning modelling, you will lead the way in driving innovation and delivering customer-focused outcomes. This role requires strong technical leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical leadership in the development and application of analytics products and data storage solutions.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding data sensitivities, limitations, and insights generated.
- Participate in an agile work environment to ensure timely delivery of fit-for-purpose products, iterating based on stakeholder feedback and assessments.
- Engage with technical experts across the organization to capitalize on opportunities for data sharing, collaboration, and consistency.
- Maintain awareness of new software, technologies, and methods to improve business efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working as a data scientist, data analyst, data engineer, transport modeller, or similar role.
- Proficiency in artificial intelligence, machine learning, image extraction and processing, statistics, and geospatial/aspatial data analysis and blending.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in data storage and structure to design efficient analytics solutions.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships to enable collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly to diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ESRI suite & QGIS), data science software (e.g., Alteryx & Python), cloud-enabled BI/visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services).
