We are looking for a Senior Database administrator with a strong understanding of Business intelligence and data analysis for a long term engagement.
Essential experience:
- 10 + years experience in SQL Server
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of SQL Server databases
- Application and Windows Experience
- Experience in Windows and SQL Server upgrades
- Experience in support and maintenance of daily operations to service levels and project based SQL Server databases. This includes full and differential backups, capacity planning, log shipping, reporting, integration and analysis services
- Experience in setting up database clustering, availability groups and active passive failover configuration & availability group load balancing
- Experience in maintaining security of SQL Server databases
- Perform onsite and remote maintenance and troubleshooting
- Manage backup and DR for all database servers
- Implement new databases and associated objects
- DR and High availability experience
- Azure & AWS Cloud experience
- Exposure to VMWare & Hyper-V and good knowledge of Windows OS
- Performance Tuning of Applications
- SSIS, SSAS and Reporting Services
- Capacity to produce high level technical documentations and results
- A Passion for SQL Server
- Project Management/Lead Experience
- Proactive and takes initiative
- Extensive experience using the Microsoft BI stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, with solid T-SQL skills up to SQL Server 2016.
- Working knowledge of DQS and MDS data management solutions
- Strong knowledge and experience in ETL development, OLAP design, and database performance tuning
- Experience with data integration through SSIS and other off-the-shelf integration packages
- Excellent working knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL principles, dimensional data modelling (Kimball) and data architecture
