The purpose of the position is to provide civil engineering advice on design and construction approval processes related to new developments in our growth and established areas.
The engineering approvals of detailed design documentations and civil construction activities (earthworks, roads, drainage and general miscellaneous civil works) will be required to be conducted in accordance with Council policy and standards, corporate direction, statutory requirements and industry Best Practice.
As a key member of the Development Engineering Unit within the Urban Design & Transport department, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality, innovative and solution focused engineering assessments and advice in relation to the forward planning of established and growth areas and the construction of Council’s new assets;
- Ensuring that design assessments and construction approvals are provided within required timeframes and in accordance with industry best practice and Council approved standards, guidelines and procedures.
About youIdeally you will be qualified in Civil Engineering with seven years’ experience, have worked with a range of internal and external stakeholders, capacity to handle a busy workload, strong writing skills, understanding of the local government engineering, planning and statutory reporting frameworks, policies and procedures, as well as working positively in a team environment.
A thorough understanding of the sub-division process, ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and your proactive approach to facilitate positive outcomes through flexible and innovative engineering solutions, in partnership with the development community, will be a key to your success in this role.
