Banyule City Council is hiring a Senior Development Engineer to play a key role withinthe Transport and Development unit.
The Transport and Development Engineering Team is responsible for providing advice to internal and external stakeholders inrelation to traffic and Development Engineering, road safety, projectdevelopment and management, as well as management of school crossingsupervision program, parking, and traffic enforcement.
About the role:
- You will assess the Engineering component of residential, commercial, and industrial developments and subdivisions to ensure that development proposals conform to legislative requirements and the Council's policies, standards & specifications.
- Supportin the development and implementation of the council's drainage strategic planand management.
Skills, experience and certificates:
- Degreein Civil Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification recognised bythe Institution of Engineers Australia, a valid certificate of professionalengineering registration as required under the professional engineer'sregistration 2019 and a current driver's license.
- Demonstratedengineering experience in a relevant field, preferably local government,including development and land subdivision approvals, planning referrals, engineeringdesign, on-site investigations, and project management.
- Abilityto effectively communicate complex developments and drainage issues,recommendations, and decisions to leaders and internal/external stakeholders.
- Demonstratedexperience in undertaking hydraulics and hydrology, conventional drainagedesign, and flood mapping/modelling development and computation.
- Soundknowledge of acts, regulations and policies relating to development/subdivisionand drainage engineering.
