Your opportunity at Arc'teryx:As the Senior Director, Visual Merchandising (VM), you deliver on the global Visual Merchandising (VM) strategy and direction for product presentation in our physical retail touch points. You lead and mentor a team who translate the Arc'teryx product vision through Visual Merchandising strategies, achieving globally consistent results and an exceptional guest experience with the brand. You oversee the delivery of the global, direct to consumer Visual Merchandising concepts that support guest-centric story-telling, create meaningful retail experiences, and increase productivity.This role is based out of our North Vancouver office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.Meet your future team:You will lead a dynamic and talented VM team who are accountable for driving global consistency of Visual Merchandising within our retail channels to maximize sales, profit, and brand positioning. We create, deliver and train on evergreen brand standards and seasonal directives informed by collaboration with our cross-functional teams. \nIf you were in the Senior Director, Visual Merchandising role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Leading the top-down VM strategy, evolution and execution; store fixtures, mannequins and other key Visual Merchandising tools (i.e. hangars, lighting, etc.)
  • Leading and mentoring the team in the collaboration and partnership with Design, Brand and Merchandising teams to develop, evolve, and scale the Visual Merchandising tools, processes, principles and communication that support best in class retail experiences
  • Leading a team that creates and implements seasonal product presentation guides to execute on brand and product vision for the season, ensuring standards are maintained throughout our store environments, interiors and windows
  • Leading the facilitation and operationalization of the field team to open new stores in existing and new markets
  • Identifying opportunities for others to lead and mentor team members
  • Owning the reconciliation of the overall Visual Merchandising budget for corporate and retail teams
  • Supporting leadership on collaborations with the Merchandising team to build model/article capacity strategies that support assortment plans, financial targets and brand strategies
  • Leading the development of formal and scalable field VM training for Commercial leadership teams, in-store VM leads and Wholesale partners
  • Leading international regional partners to ensure global VM standards are adopted to support best in class retail experiences
  • Monitoring and reporting team performance metrics regularly to leadership
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain

Are you our next Senior Director, Visual Merchandising?
  • You have university degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail, Business, or another related subject
  • You have 12+ years of Visual Merchandising and/or buying leadership experience within vertical retail, +5 years' experience leading a team
  • You have an understanding of and experience with the retail environment, including a strong understanding of planograms, displays, and wall systems
  • You have experience with InDesign and Mock Shop and familiarity with the Arc'teryx brand and products
  • You have a proven track record in developing and leading the execution of a multi-year business strategy
  • You have strong business acumen with the ability to lead in a complex matrix business environment
  • You drive organizational excellence through continuous communication and proactive, solutions-based approaches
  • You have strong influential leadership, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
  • You thrive on building relationships and creating partnerships across the organization
  • You flourish in a fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment and thrive on contributing to our brand and team's evolution

\n$176,000 - $220,000 a yearA reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$146,000 - CAD$182,000 at the time of this posting.
