Location
Darwin is a stunning tropical costal town, with beautiful sunsets and stunning landscapes. Darwin is continually expanding, a gateway to Asia. Given its regional location housing is affordable when compared to the capital cities.
The office is located at Cullen Bay Marina - a relaxed, tropical, waterside precinct with something to do for everyone. Loved by visitors and locals alike, the Cullen Bay precinct is uniquely located with the marina on one side and the beach on the other.
About the role
The position is intended for highly experienced engineers who are self-sufficient and capable of managing projects and a team of engineers whilst generating work and contacts for the company.
You will be responsible for:
- Contributing to mentoring Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers with workflow, designs, and technical issues
- Developing reports, specifications and technical papers as required by the company and its clients
- Delivering projects on time and on budget across our sectors adhering to quality standards prescribed by the industry.
- Planning and conducting professional engineering work without direct supervision.
- Continuous professional education to deliver client solutions and enhance your career.
- Nurturing existing and building new client relationships.
- Working with various clients to deliver, and exceed, their expectations.
- Reviewing and adhering to quality standards and relevant Australian Standards.
- Developing and improving the way the business operates through existing process and innovations or developing and implementing new concepts.
About you
- Hold a recognized qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Have a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Electrical Engineering projects for clients with successful outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical designs and software packages.
- Strong level of knowledge and commitment to safety and customer service.
- Well organized, pragmatic and able to handle a diverse and complex workload.
- Demonstrable advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Friendly and approachable with a good sense of humour.
- Flexible, consistent with a desire to lead and learn.
- Ability to use initiative and make decisions.
- Capability to perform small to medium projects from concept stages through to post commissioning support.
- Have an advanced understanding and knowledge of PCS and power systems.
- Current member of / or have the appropriate qualifications to allow for membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia.
- Preferred: RPEQ qualification or obtain that qualification within 1 year from award of this contract.
- Able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compelling. You will need to use your written and verbal communication skills to influence people’s decisions, actions, and vision.
