Utilities - O&M
Within the Services division, the Utilities O&M (Operations & Maintenance) business has a broad mandate to deliver programmatic services to power, water and gas asset owners, rounding out UGL’s service offering providing a one stop shop to the entire utilities asset lifecycle.
Building on existing long-term contracts in power distribution and transmission, and water operations and maintenance, Utilities O&M is positioned for targeted growth, including:
- Wining new power distribution service programs, in VIC, NSW & QLD.
- Retaining and growing existing power transmission maintenance panel contracts, and
- Complementing the broader CIMIC group offering for major new energy transmission PPPs (such as Renewable Energy Zones, REZs) as the long-term O&M service provider partner.
The Opportunity – Senior Estimator
A new role to support growth, reporting to the National Manager – Strategy & Development, with our targeted work ranging from programs to lump sum packages, the key duties include:
- Lead proposal specific estimating function for tenders, especially pricing for programs of work / services in power distribution.
- Preparation of estimates for discrete packages of lump sum work (liaising with SMEs)
- Ensuring compliance with UGL’s governance requirements including CATS processes
- Complete estimate build ups including procurement / subcontractors, direct costs, program / project overheads, opportunity and risks, and margins
- Completion of Basis of Estimates and other governance and gating requirements
- Liaison with bid manager, commercial manager
- Provision of business analytics in respect of improving existing contract performance
About You
- Experience in an Electrical estimating lead role for tier 1 companies
- Subject matter knowledge in utilities (with power experience preferred) highly regarded.
- Experience in an estimating environment dealing with CATS style estimating software (e.g. Candy or Expert) is essential.
- Demonstrable attributes: attention to detail, dedication, and a pro-active approach.
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
