How will you get involved?
This role is crucial to the performance of a major Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Project on the NSW Central Coast. As part of our Engineering team, you will bring your previous contract and design management experience and help us manage the end-to-end construction process of the project.
This is a 12-month contract with possible extension depending on the progression of the works (as well as ongoing future / permanent employment if mutually desired).
What are we looking for?
You are a qualified Mechanical Engineer (chemical and civil engineers also considered) with at least 5-10 years specific experience in water treatment projects and you are keen for the next challenge in your career. You will be able to assist with:
- design management and documentation
- verification of mechanical drawings
- program management
- progress claims
- variations
- extensions of time
- managing suppliers, subcontractors and internal resources
- client liaison
- progress reports
- management of ITPs and quality records
- equipment procurement and deliveries.
Key skills and attributes required:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- significant experience with water treatment design including P&ID diagrams, functional descriptions, pump selections, hydraulics, pipe sizing, chemical dosing systems
- strong understanding of safety in design and current legislation
- previous experience commissioning water treatment plants
- excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with clients, external subcontractors, suppliers and staff
- well organised with a track-record in meeting timeframes and working within budgets
- sound work ethic, ability to work with minimal supervision and genuine passion for good design
- ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
