Our Telfer operation in Australia is now recruiting for the position of Senior Engineer- Asset Health

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of WA, Telfer is a short two-hour flight from Perth. Working as a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) operation, comprising of open pit and underground, you’ll be working 8 days on, 6 days off lifestyle. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and refurbished communal eatery.
Who we’re looking for
Reporting into the Superintendent- Engineering we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with an Asset Health background to support the Telfer Maintenance Department on an 8/6 Roster FIFO from Perth, flying Mondays.
The purpose of this role will be a focus on ensuring governance and compliance to our Asset Health systems & procedures, and report on compliance to Asset Management Policy and Standards for the Telfer site. In this role you will be the owner of asset operations and the gatekeeper for delay and stoppage accounting.
Other key responsibilities will be:
- Providing best practice recommendations to other team members with regard to equipment failures.
- Accountable for compliance to Delay Elimination Standards (PPMS) for Telfer site and assigning RCA levels.
- Identify, prepare data, and implement improvements in delay elimination (PPMS) failure codes.
- Ensure regular Asset Health & Asset Risk reporting to required standards for continual improvement.
- Review change requests across site for PPMS failure codes with Newcrest Corporate Office to ensure it fits with current group reporting.
- Identify opportunities suitable for predictive maintenance and implement systems to manage predictive maintenance of assets.
- Facilitate Planned Maintenance Optimisation (PMO) projects from time to time to optimise asset strategies and tactics for efficient use of resources.
- Focus on personal and team safety whilst ensuring compliance with Newmont Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Policies & Procedures.
- Maintain high levels of communication with team members and stakeholders i.e Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, Condition Monitoring Technicians.
To succeed in this role you will be a strong communicator and influencer someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment.
Other requirements of the role include:
- Extensive experience in the Mining Industry in best practice reliability systems and asset management.
- Degree qualified Engineer (Mechanical Preferred) with further studies in Asset Health and Reliability.
- Experience in SAP with respect to Maintenance Plans will be highly regarded.
- Well-rounded stakeholder management experience and excellent communication skills
- C class Manual Licence
