About The Role
Within the Operations Department, the Systems Capability Division is responsible, through close collaboration with asset owners and users, for managing the networks AEMO operates; those that enable the operation of the NEM. As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for the review of power system performance in relation to National Electricity Rules and generator performance standards.
What You Will Be Doing
- Contribute to and lead aspects of the investigation into the technical performance of generators to provide recommendations and reporting on instances of generator non-compliance with performance standards
- Lead aspects of the investigation into power system incidents to provide analysis used to support possible actions or improvements to address performance issues and non-compliances
- Write, contribute to or review technical reports ensuring all reports are of a high technical standard and suited to the intended audience
- Provide SME advice on specific aspects of generator compliance and associated processes
- Liaise with AEMO internal teams and NEM participants to provide advice, facilitate information exchange, query resolution and in the delivery of project outcomes
- Electrical Engineering degree with a power system and/or power electronics focus, or suitable equivalent
- Demonstrated professional experience in the area of power systems or suitable equivalent
- Good knowledge of electrical engineering principles, specifically relating to electricity transmission, distribution and generation
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Previous experience with project management and stakeholder engagement
