11:11 is looking for a Senior Engineer Specialist whose primary responsibility will be support of the broad landscape of the OSS tool set and infrastructure and manage critical applications in a production setting. This role will utilize a senior level skill set to maintain the operational integrity of the production tool set infrastructure and troubleshoot system issues.
This includes Monitoring Applications, Workflow Automation, Customer Portal and integration of the tool set. This position will also leverage an understanding of the supporting infrastructure and the communications across the tool set.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of OSS Operations & Infrastructure.
Provide production support and maintain availability of the existing tool set to all stakeholders.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the existing Microfocus tool set (OMI, NNMi, UCMDB, SiteScope, HPSA/NA/OO) and other tools (ServiceNow, Viewpoint, Splunk, Ziggy Wave, Grafana, etc.) and utilize your technical skills to support these tools.
Proactively address and resolve issues when possible, escalating to engineering/development teams when appropriate.
Display the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the tool set and communicate effectively while working toward resolution.
Work productively within the team as well as with other teams/stakeholders. Manage a fair share of team workload, including Incidents, Requests and Projects.
Display strong analytical skills to identify opportunities to improve process and performance of the applications.
Partner with GMN team and be a part of discussions and activities that relate to the OSS landscape.
Act as an escalation point during non-US business hours.
Practice ITIL processes; understand SLAs, change management processes and working through a ticketing system.
Produce and/or update documentation applicable to the team and its processes, functions and knowledge base.
Participate in on-call, after hours or holiday support as needed.
Requirements
Linux/Unix, Windows and VMware administration experience with expertise in at least one OS.
Comprehensive understanding of monitoring concepts, working knowledge of monitoring toolset and administration of tools - OMI, NNMi, Sitescope, CloudOptimizer.
Working knowledge of automation tools and automation principles - HPSA/HPOO/HPNA, Ansible, SaltStack, etc.
Working knowledge of supporting services (DNS, DHCP, mail, database, proxy, syslog, etc.) as related to the tool set.
Working knowledge of system/application lifecycle/patching, OS deployment, WSUS and security best practices.
Experience using ITSM tools - ServiceNow.
Scripting skills – Experience in Python, Shell or Power shell.
Aptitude for learning and ability to incorporate new skills and technologies.
