Located in Perth, you will work with a team of highly experienced engineers and project managers and be engaged our local, interstate and global operations.GHD is seeking to grow its Australian Future Energy Business Group through the addition of a Senior Engineer - Solar, based in Perth, Western Australia. This role will work with the broader enterprise to service clients and deliver projects in the power sector across the full project lifecycle. These projects are anticipated to have a particular focus on renewable energy and energy storage and contribute to the continued decarbonisation of the power system.We're looking for a Senior Engineer - Solar - to join our Future Energy Group.Working with a hardworking and impactful team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Undertaking design and preparing documentation for power projects with minimal direction.
• Undertaking review of contractor design documentation against project specifications and industry standards.
• Site visits as required to identify & assess sites, as well as assess project progress, compliance, quality, witnessing, commissioning, defect identification and close out, and the like.
• Leading and supervising the work of project teams to achieve project breakthroughs and objectives; includes allocating tasks, ensuring compliance, setting priorities including adjusting focus as required.
• Contributing to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in power engineering including planning, design, safety, construction, operation, maintenance, decommissioning and demolition.
• Effectively connect with partners, both internal and external.
• Leveraging background/contacts to develop business and contributing to winning work, including the development of tender responses to sell GHD's services.

What you will bring to the team:

• Formal qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering (BEng or equivalent acceptable to Engineers Australia). CPEng and RPEQ is desirable.
• 10+ Years' experience in power projects
• Experience in the design, construction and commissioning of utility scale Solar PV energy projects.
• Experience with relevant software packages (e.g. HOMER, PVsyst, PVcase).
• Experience and a sound understanding of current solar PV and power engineering technologies, including methods of installation, operation and configuration.
• Experience in business development and responding to requests for tender.
• Experience in liaison with utilities and network service providers and operators.
• Experience with generator performance standards and navigating power system connection process is desirable.
• Must hold a valid driver's licence
