As a Senior Project Engineer (Solar) at Fortescue, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful delivery of Solar projects on behalf of the Energy Operations department in our organisation.
Fortescue's Energy Operations team mission is to provide safe, reliable and efficient power across our Pilbara operations. We are a part of the Northern Hub at Fortescue and have an experienced team that manage all aspects of our high voltage power generation and transmission network.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Monitoring:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and oversee project completion.
- Ensure adherence to Operational and Quality standards.
- Monitor progress and address any deviations.
- Leadership and Communication:
- Lead project teams, fostering teamwork and effective communication.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, as the Owners Representative for Energy Operations.
- Provide regular updates on project status.
- Technical Expertise:
- Apply engineering principles to assist the Project Team with solving complex challenges.
- Ensure project delivery of documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Risk Management:
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues to minimize disruptions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Seek opportunities to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to lessons learned and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical is preferred, or related field).
- Experience in project management, preferably within the mining or construction industry.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
