Access theKey responsibilitiesSome of the primary responsibilities of the Senior Engineer (Traffic) will include:
- Provide specialist technical advice and assistance on all aspects of road network signalised and un-signalised intersections, active traffic management systems and network performance.
- Undertake operational traffic analysis to provide recommendations and advice on traffic signal and smart motorway operations.
- Investigate and prepare responses to enquiries related to traffic operations issues.
- Development and operational management of the traffic signal strategies for planned and unplanned traffic events.
- Develop proposals for operational improvements on arterial and motorway roads.
- Provide support and advice on intelligent transport systems, traffic engineering and signal design suitability.
- Significant experience in Intelligent Transport Systems, traffic engineering and traffic management system practices and standards.
- Strong analytical and technical skills to foster continuous improvement in the efficiency of systems and technologies.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions to a variety of audiences and to gain commitment from key stakeholders to support ideas or take action.
- Proactively builds long-term working relationships with partners inside and outside the department.
- A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory.
- Holder of a current C class driver's licence.
