Role description:
Arcadis is looking for a Senior Environmental EngineerEnvironmental Restoration to join our Restoration team delivering a range of contaminated land and Environmental Engineering projects across Australia You will also be working closely with our interstate teams in Victoria, Queensland, and Western Australia, as well as our global Environmental Engineering teams.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assisting with the planning and execution of site investigations including soil, concrete, surface water, and groundwater.
  • Support for investigation and sampling at aviation sites, in particular involving PFAS impacts. 
  • Responsible for developing site investigation reports with recommendations.
  • Transitioning site investigation to remediation through remediation option assessments, remediation action plans, to a high level.
  • Designing and conducting treatability studies for remediation.
  • Characterising, assessing and managing trade waste streams at industrial sites.
  • Field oversight and sampling for industrial maintenance operations, in particular involving PFAS at aviation sites.
  • Contributing to complex remediation projects across a wide range of industrial and government clients locally and nationally. 
  • Collaborating on a variety of currently active, small to medium sized projects and larger projects on the horizon. 
  • Assisting in providing consulting support and advice to multidisciplinary design and construction teams as well as contractor liaison.
  • Participate in Global Communities of Practice in remediation and PFAS.
  • Developing technical presentations for clients.
  • Supporting the winning of projects through the preparation of proposals and bids.

Qualifications & Experience:

First and foremost, you are someone who values and enjoys working within a supportive, people-focused culture. You are an energetic seasoned environmental consultant with relevant tertiary qualifications and working experience in New South Wales. 

You will come to us with: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, chemical or civil engineering, or other scientific disciplines (geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry).  
  • 5-8 years contaminated land experience across various industries. 
  • Experience in undertaking field activities, groundwater monitoring, soil sampling and coordinating with contractors 
  • A track record in delivering high-quality work and contributing to a positive team culture 
  • Proven capability in writing reports, applications and management plans and 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
