With the ongoing growth within BSI, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a very driven and growing team that is responsible for the operational delivery and improvements on our SDLC process with CI/CD, promoting best practice combining our development and support practices.
The role is key to the frictionless running of the applications function within BSI therefore effective team leadership is a crucial part of the skill set required. Improving our customer satisfaction and happiness of our teams is at the core of our operations. As a senior member of the team, you will also be supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of team.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Own and manage complex technical solutions to support BSI various environments
- Collaborate and work with our cross functional teams including security, architects and delivery to deliver the right solutions
- Contribute to the design, build and operational management of a highly scalable, secure and available PaaS/SaaS platform, ensuring it can operate 24×7. You maybe required to provide out-of-hours or on-call services as required
- Reduce and remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the ecosystem. In collaboration with the product teams, work to reduce or eliminate manual or repetitive tasks
- Champion and embody a mindset of agile delivery and continuous improvement whilst aligning to IT global process and keeping focus on business outcomes.
Skills & Experience required:-
Being a effective key communicator and stakeholder management in large, complex organizations, demonstrating a great ability to listen and navigate competing sets of priorities, business opportunities, and challenges
Conveying a level of confidence and professionalism when engaging with stakeholders, influencing positively and persuading others to take a specific course of action when not in a position of authority prioritisation and delegation abilities
Essential technical skills:-
CI/CD: microservices, infrastructure as a code, monitoring/logging, containerisation & automation
Operational Management: Synthetic Monitoring tools: NewRelic, Site24x7 or Pingdom, to monitor availability and performance
Code Management: Azure Repos and/or Enterprise GitHub or Bitbucket
Container & API technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Apigee
MS ADO, Azure Boards and/or Jira, Confluence
Desirable technical skills:
Experience of working with offshore/nearshore service providers
Security, Test & Release Automation: Acunetix (or similar), Azure Artifacts & Test Plans and/or, Jenkins
Azure Enterprise: Cloud, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments
Site reliability engineering, familiar with chaos engineering principles AZ 900 / AZ 104 / AZ 204 / AZ 500
