Job Description:
  • Provide expertise and support on material sustainability issues for Westpac
  • Sydney based hybrid role - office 3 days per week and work from home opportunity
  • Permanent opportunity
As part of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Delivery Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Group Sustainability team to deliver on our sustainability strategy and key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of sustainability topics, drawing on best practice to advance Westpac's sustainability agenda. You will provide consistently high-quality support that enables the delivery of strategic outcomes in Group Sustainability and across the organisation.Specific responsibilities include:
  • Provide high quality research and analysis across a range of sustainability matters, including human rights, modern slavery, child safety, climate and natural capital
  • Provide governance, reporting and program support for social programs
  • Bring insights on international developments in sustainability to support Westpac's progress and inform our strategy
  • Support development of ESG policies and position statements that help position Westpac as a sustainability leader
  • Support delivery of strategic ESG projects with a particular focus on human rights, modern slavery, child safety, climate and natural capital
  • Relationship management with our internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong understanding and proven experience in corporate sustainability concepts and international frameworks/principles
  • More than 2 years' relevant experience (ESG analysis), preferably in a large corporate or consulting environment
  • Experience in governance and reporting, including data extraction and analysis
  • Graduate or Post Graduate qualifications in finance, legal, business, sustainability, environmental science, business or technology preferred
  • Ability to deliver high quality results to deadline with attention to detail, managing multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, SharePoint, and data management approaches
