With a legacy spanning over 160 years, QBuild has played a vital role in building and maintaining government-owned facilities, including schools, social housing, police stations, correctional facilities, and ambulance stations.
The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate and manage estimating activities including budget control, client communication, the allocation of internal resources and specialist subcontractors.
QBuild is a vital part of Queensland's $50 billion building and construction industry which employs 235,000 Queenslanders.
As the Queensland Government's builder, QBuild plays an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assetssuch as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
With almost 1,400 staff and a network that includes 20 offices and 34 depots across the state, QBuild is well positioned to deliver construction and maintenance services to communities including those in regional and remote areas.

Key responsibilities include:• Leading and assisting a team of Estimators and support staff to achieve successful project delivery outcomes.• Managing the delivery of estimating programs and projects particularly those deemed medium to high risk, significant or complex in nature.• Producing high quality estimates and quotation documentation for building projects, ensuring compliance with the State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works, local instructions and tendering and contract methods, and client requirements.• Undertaking research and development in project planning, budgeting, estimating, programming, delivery processes and procurement practices.• Reporting on relevant estimating projects and/or programs providing information on volume, requests, clients, locations, acceptance rates, costs, schedule of rates, margins and productivity.• Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, antidiscrimination and workplace health and safety.• Enhancing client relationships through effective communication, sound negotiation and the provision of timely, professional, competitive estimates.• Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
