Great opportunity to work on corporate commercial projects in the CBD with a professional renowned national head contractor.
A market leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, they are now seeking an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator to join their professional team in their Brisbane office.
Offering a range of services to their high end clients, the company specialises in new build and heavy refurb of Health, Education, Government, Hotels, Office, Hospitality and Leisure sector projects. Incorporating a wide range of skillsets, their refurbishment work can have a large element of structural trades, heavy demolition, facades, steel and concrete (adding or removing levels etc.).
As a professional and astute Estimator / Senior Estimator, you will have a proven history in the local market with experience working on refurb and new build projects up to $50m+. With a variety of interesting projects across all construction sectors, you will be overseeing your own projects as well as providing support and mentoring to the junior members of the team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Preparation and submission of tenders
- Evaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
- Tender negotiations
- Coordinate tender handover to project team
- Prepare budgets based on tender submission
- Assess and price contract variation orders
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or similar
- Minimum 8 years post graduate experience with a second or top tier contractor or builder on construction and fit-out / refurbishment projects
- Proven ability to tender on multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to read and understand plans
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client and subcontractor focus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work within a team as well as autonomously
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Experience with Jobpac, Cubit and Buildsoft software’s would be advantageous
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
