Job Description

This position leads and manages the events management functions for the Rottnest Island Authority. The role supports the organisation with event management, development, attraction and leveraging. The role builds and nurtures positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. Desirable criteria will be assessed as required.

Essential

  1. Experience in a Senior Events role, preferably within a tourism or government context, with event management delivery of major consumer (direct delivery, and third party) and corporate (internal and external) events.
  2. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences.
  3. Demonstrated ability to prepare event plans, including research and data analysis, budget and resource management, risk management, communications and evaluation measures.
  4. Demonstrated well developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet concurrent deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated recent experience in working collaboratively and cooperatively for the development and coordination of marketing materials for events.

Desirable

  1. Behaviour that reflects Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
  2. Degree or qualification in Events or related field.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of State Government processes.
  4. Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.

Flexibility Requirement

  • Must be capable of commuting to and from the Island on a regular basis and reside overnight on the island as required.
  • Must be capable and willing to work rostered working arrangements including weekend and public holidays. Work hours will be posted in advance.

Note: The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

AND

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check card prior to commencement.
