- Salary Range Band 6 $93,459 - $101,873 plus 11% Super
- Full time, 12 month temporary backfill position
- Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible.
About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role
Interested in joining a fast-paced events team where everyday is different? This role is for anyone that has worked in outdoor events and has local government experience. The role will have you working on major events, activations, promotions, community and minor events. Must be able to multitask, be agile and adapt with client requirement while providing support and knowledge of compliance regulations.
Duties:
- Responsible for undertaking the application, assessment, approval and permitting for events, in public space, following all relevant regulations, policies, strategies and guidelines
- To provide liaison, advice, approval and compliance role for events.
- To build and maintain working relationships with event operators, key internal/external stakeholders and relevant agencies
- Deliver a range of civic events following all relevant regulations, policies, strategies and guidelines
Skills and Experience
- Local Government experience
- Demonstrated understanding and extensive experience in outdoor events and liaison with statutory authorities.
- Experience in successfully working with external stakeholders (e.g., Victorian Police, Victoria Ambulance) toward a common goal.
- Understanding of the political, social and legal environment and organisational context of Council.
- Sound Project management skills
