AddressWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist for our team. This role is a great opportunity for a strategic thinking individual who enjoys collaborating with different stakeholder groups to deliver key business objectives. Working with a close, high functioning team you will work on several resource models.
Given the nature of the scope of work we are seeking people who have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- A strong background and demonstrated experience in all facets of resource estimation such as database QAQC, geological interpretation and modelling and resource estimation
- Familiarity with advanced geostatistics techniques
- International experience and/or willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally at short notice is a requirement.
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task with the goal of timely delivery of quality products
- Experience interpreting geophysical data sets (strengths in potential field datasets particularly valued, with good working knowledge of electrical methods)
- Proficient in the use of software packages for geological modelling, geostatistical analysis and block model estimation (such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Isatis)
- Strong knowledge of statistical and geostatistical analysis
- Strong knowledge of database management, sampling protocols, QAQC, grade control, and reconciliation
- Willingness to communicate and troubleshoot with other technical disciplines.
You Will Also Have
- A university degree in Geology, with around eight or more years of experience
- Certification as a Professional Geologist registered with a recognised professional association
- Practical experience at a mine site will be considered positively
- Experience in reconciliation procedures and grade control
- Proficiency in a second language considered an asset
- High cultural intelligence and the ability to work effectively with professionals from all backgrounds
- The ability to develop long-term relationships with team members across different mining jurisdictions
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
