Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Senior Family Lawyer to join our friendly team. As a Senior Family Lawyer, you will handle a wide range of complex Family Law cases, including divorces, parenting and property matters, spousal maintenance, family violence matters, binding financial agreements, and consent orders. Your expertise and in-depth knowledge of Family Law will be vital in providing strategic legal advice, representing clients in court proceedings, and negotiating settlements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of complex Family Law matters, from inception to resolution.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations and instruct at final trials.
- Draft court and mediation documents.
- Collaborate with support staff to ensure the smooth progression of cases.
- Stay updated on changes in Family Law statutes, regulations, and precedents.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and empathetic guidance.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active practicing certificate in Victoria.
- Admissions to practice in both Victoria and the High Court of Australia.
- 3+ years of experience practicing Family Law.
- Proven track record of successfully handling Family Law cases from start to finish.
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
- Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to the needs of clients.
